Habit | A pair of bulbous leaves, that remain half buried in the soil. The leaves are semi translucent, often with intriguing patterns on them. New leaves emerge from the centre slit. |
Height | Lithop varieties are very slow growing, but can grow to as high and wide as 10cm. |
Colour | Colours vary greatly with shades of green, grey and brown. The top patterns can include shades of red, cream, grey and brown. |
Flowers | Flowers emerge from the centre slit on older lithops. Flowers are white to yellow, and daisy like. |
Aspect | Prefers a part shade position. |
Uses | A collectors delight. Keep in a small pot on its own, or plant several into a small bowl. Add large pebbles and watch the lithops camouflage in-between them. |
