| Habit | A climbing cactus with thick, pencil like branches with small spines. Will need support to climb. |

| Colour | Foliage is dark green in colour, with cream to white spines. |
| Flowers | Renowned for its large flowers, that can be up to 30cm in diameter. Large, cream to white petals with outer pale green to yellow sepels. Will only flower in the evening/night and they will only last for one night. Flowers in late summer to autumn. |
| Aspect | Happy in either a full sun or part shade position. |
| Ouch Factor | Medium - Spines are prickly but not overly sharp. Handle with care. |
| Uses | A collector’s gem. Looks stunning when planted in mass along a brick wall or next to pillars. |
